Health economist with more than a decade of experience in health technology assessment, economic evaluation, evidence synthesis, decision modelling and healthcare financing. He has contributed to economic evaluations alongside NIHR-funded trials and cohort studies, designed economic evaluations using UK routine data such as CPRD and Hospital Episode Statistics, and conducted systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
He was previously a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation, Bangor University; a health economist with the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment group, University of Glasgow; lead health economist at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam; and a health economist at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He began his research career at icddr,b in Bangladesh.
He is a member of the WHO Expert Panel on Health Valuation, has consulted for the World Health Organization and the World Bank, and is Principal Investigator of a EuroQol-funded EQ-5D valuation study in Nepal. He is an Academic Editor for BMC Health Services Research and PLOS Global Public Health.
